About Our Programs
Peridance has been a leader in New York's dance community for over 40 years, making it possible for students of all levels to study and experience New York City. The International Dance School/Peridance Center is authorized under federal law, Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP), to enroll non-immigrant students under an F-1 Visa Program. Peridance caters to students from all over the world including: Russia, Brazil, Israel, Germany, Austria, Italy, United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico, India, Korea, Switzerland, China, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Australia, Finland, The Netherlands, Egypt, South Africa, Jamaica, and Colombia. Our world-renowned faculty and remarkable selection of classes make for a highly rewarding educational experience. We welcome you to our state-of-the-art facility, which includes large studios, an in-house theater, a cafe, and a dance-wear boutique.
We look forward to helping you achieve your goals here at Peridance! We provide students with step-by-step guidance from their initial application to their arrival in the United States. Peridance also assists with acclimating to the city, finding housing, taking English lessons, and enjoying student discounts. We also help students easily transfer from other U.S. schools and, when applicable, change their status from other types of visas.

Short Term:
Given the situation surrounding COVID-19, International Dance School at Peridance has unified our programs under 1 curriculum. We are planning on beginning a new semester starting September 8, 2020 that is a hybrid of in-person and online classes.
This new Training Program is a mixture of our Independent Study, Dance Studies and Intensive Semester programs, which we have created to better suit the needs of students during this time. It consists of 18 hours of study each week. You can find a link to our handbook which contains more detailed information HERE.
- Independent Study Program - 3, 6, or 12 months
- Certificate Program - 2 years
- Dance Studies Program - 12 months
Authorized Employment possibilities for International Students
After the completion of a minimum of one year of study at Peridance, a student may be eligible to apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT), which allows him/her up to 20 weekly hours of employment that is directly related to their field of study. The purpose of this part-time employment is to enhance the curriculum that the program offers with practical experience in the field.
International students that have studied at Peridance for a minimum of three consecutive years (or two years for Certificate Program students) and have successfully maintained a good status, may be eligible to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). If approved by USCIS (United States Custom and Immigration Services), an OPT grantee may work full-time as a professional in their field of study for one year.
