    COVID-19 UPDATES

    March 8th, 2022

    Dear Peridance Community,

We hope that this letter finds you healthy and well. As we continue to navigate through the changing times of the pandemic, we are grateful that you have stayed the course with us and that you continue to share your love for dance with the Peridance community.

On March 7th, New York City will lift the Key to NYC mandate. In an effort to follow the city's procedures, Peridance will do the same. Beginning Monday March 7th, vaccination proof and masks will be optional at the Center. We will continue to contact trace should any COVID outbreaks occur. We anticipate more changes in terms of our staggered class times and entry to the building as well as the length of time that patrons can mingle after classes. These changes will be made slowly over the next few months.

We understand that these changes may feel abrupt and unnerving, as we know that each person has a different comfort level with regards to COVID-19. We will continue to be understanding of each individual and do our best to offer our support during this transitional period. Additionally, Peridance will stay informed of all City, State, and CDC guidelines, and we will follow all necessary mandates as they are required.

We are grateful for work that we have done together until now, and we look forward to continued growth and dancing together into the future!

    Best wishes,
    The Peridance Center Team

    February 4th, 2022

    Dear Peridance Community,

Happy New Year! Thank you for your continued support and commitment to dancing with us at Peridance Center.

On January 29, 2022, New York City updated its Key to NYC mandate to say that all persons ages 12+ are required to show proof of full vaccination upon entry to an indoor fitness establishment. As such, all persons ages 12+ entering Peridance Center must show proof of full vaccination and ID upon entry. Additionally, children ages 5-11 years must show proof of one vaccine dose upon entry. According to the Key to NYC city mandate, Peridance falls under the "indoor fitness" category and must follow these guidelines. Peridance will otherwise be facing fines or other penalties.

When entering the building, Peridance will ask to see your vaccination proof (CDC-issued vaccination card, photo of vaccination card, New York State Excelsior Pass, and the NYC Covid Safe App) at the Front Desk. We will notate your status on your MindBody account, and you will not need to show your vaccine proof a second time. We will not keep any photograph or physical documentation of your vaccine records.

Please note that Peridance will continue to require masks in the building (including while teaching/dancing) at all times.

If you require an accommodation to the new Key to NYC city mandated rules, or if you have any questions or concerns, please email us at healthfirst@peridance.com so that we can work with you to find a reasonable accommodation.

We look forward to dancing with you soon!

    August 25th, 2021

    Dear Peridance Community,

We hope that this letter finds you healthy and well. This year has been a whirlwind of activity and adaptation to ever changing times. As we continue to navigate through these changes, we are grateful that you have stuck with us and that you have continued to dance with us both online and in our studios. As the summer comes to a close and the world continues to battle with the pandemic, as many of you know, we are at another point of transition.

On August 17th, New York City brought on new regulations for businesses such as dance studios. The new city initiative, Key to NYC, states that people 12 and older will be required to show proof that they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO for indoor dining, indoor fitness, and indoor entertainment.

According to the Key to NYC city mandate, Peridance falls under the "indoor fitness" category and must follow these new guidelines. Peridance will otherwise be facing fines or other penalties.

Starting on Monday, August 30, 2021, Peridance will ask to see your vaccination proof (CDC-issued vaccination card, photo of vaccination card, New York State Excelsior Pass, and the NYC Covid Safe App) at the Front Desk.

Throughout this year, we have worked together to overcome various hurdles, and we look forward to working with you through this one as well. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to dancing with you.

    Kind Regards,
    Igal Perry

    July 30th, 2021

In light of the Delta variant and new CDC recommendations, Peridance will be adopting a new mask policy at the Center.

Beginning Monday August 2nd, all individuals will be required to wear masks while at Peridance Center, both inside and outside of studios.

With New York City's COVID-19 cases on the rise and with the new recommendations by the CDC, we hope by adopting this new policy, that we can help keep our NYC community safe and healthy. We will continue to monitor the guidelines set forth by the CDC and NYS, and we will adjust and adopt our COVID-19 Health and Safety guidelines accordingly.

We recognize that this time has come with challenges for all, and we are deeply appreciative that you are continuing to share your work and your dance at Peridance Center.

    June 17, 2021

Peridance is excited to announce the large-scale reopening of the center. In light of Governor Cuomo's recent announcement to lift all COVID-19 restrictions in commercial settings including dance studios, Peridance will update its COVID-19 policies accordingly. Beginning Monday June 21st, Peridance will cease all temperature checks and health questionnaires, expand studio occupancy capacity, and eliminate the mask mandate for vaccinated individuals. Unvaccinated individuals will still be responsible for continuing to wear a mask, per Federal CDC guidance.

Beginning Monday June 28th, Peridance will lengthen class times to 90 minutes. Please be on the lookout for specific information about new classes and class formats (Hybrid, In-Studio Only).

    Safety Information:

Mask Mandate: Masks are not required for vaccinated individuals. Masks are strongly encouraged for unvaccinated individuals.
Directional Hallways: All hallways and staircases are one way, to prevent the crossing of paths between individuals.
Staggered Class Times: All class times are staggered with time in between, to minimize students lingering in the hallways and crossing paths with students from other classes.
Dressing Rooms: Our dressing and locker rooms remain closed.
Frequently Touched Surfaces: We have removed all frequently touched surfaces from the building (ex: benches, yoga mats, chairs).

We are closely monitoring the Delta variant situation and will continue to follow CDC and New York State guidelines. We highly encourage dancers, teachers, and staff to wear masks while in the building.

We look forward to dancing with you soon!

    _______________

    November 30, 2020

We wish to express our gratitude to our Peridance community; thank you for your continued support and generosity as we move through these uncertain times. We look forward to moving with you soon!

Over the past few months, we have worked with our fellow dance studios within Dance Studio Alliance NYC to advocate for our industry while better understanding and seeking clarity and guidance from the city to reopen our studios. Within Peridance, we have further developed our COVID-19 Safety and Reopening plan and have been rigorously preparing for the day we might open our doors to the public once again.

With New York's COVID-19 infection rate on the rise and with the recent closure of public schools, Peridance is being mindful of the health and safety of our community as we plan our next steps forward.

Today, Peridance will begin its soft reopening process. We will bring back our Open Classes slowly over the next couple of months so long as we are permitted to do so barring another city or state lockdown. We will reduce our studio capacity to 20% and all in-studio classes will continue to be offered online as well.

Please click here for our daily schedule. We look forward to seeing you soon!

    In-Studio Classes: Important Reminders

      Register in advance:
Students must register for In-Studio class in advance. No walk on registration will be allowed.

      Fill out your health survey:
All registrants are required to fill out a health screening survey per class within an hour prior to arrival at Peridance. Students will not be allowed to enter the building until they have completed a COVID-19 Health Screening Survey. Students will have their temperature taken upon arrival at Peridance Center.

      Wear your mask:
Peridance requires all persons to wear a mask while in the building. Peridance will not accept bandanas, masks with vents, t-shirts or other garments tied around the face, or gaiter neck wraps as appropriate mask coverings, as they are not secure and may fall while dancing.

      Be on time:
Students will be allowed into the building 10 minutes before their scheduled class time. In order to maintain strict protocols under new COVID-19 regulations, Peridance reserves the right to deny entry to any person who arrives late for a class. Any person who does not arrive within the 10 minute window before their scheduled class time will not be allowed to enter Peridance and attend class. Their place will be forfeited in the class and they will not be reimbursed nor given credit for the class.

School at Peridance children's classes will begin online on September 10th and will transition to the studio on September 21st.

For the time being, Peridance will delay its scheduled reopening of Open Classes. In order to follow all City and State regulations, we are taking more time to seek clarity from government officials. Peridance has and will take all precautions to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Please stay tuned as we update our community over the next few days and weeks regarding the In-Studio Open Class start date. During this interim period, we invite you to continue to dance with us online. Our faculty will teach from our studios, streamed live to your home! We look forward to seeing you in the studio soon!

On Tuesday, September 8th, Peridance will reopen with a blend of In-Person, Hybrid, and Online Classes.
