Training Programs




Certificate Program

The Certificate Program offers postsecondary students a two-year training for high-level intermediate and advanced students who plan on a professional career in dance.

The program includes 72 weeks of study, divided into four semesters with spring, winter, and summer breaks integrated into the teaching year. Enrollment is by audition and limited to applicants between the ages of 17 to 25 years old. The program emphasizes personal attention and nurtures each student's full potential as an individual and as a performing artist. The faculty is made of established as well as innovative teachers and choreographers.

The Certificate Program offers students two distinct tracks of study, each with the goal of providing essential technical and artistic skills that will enable them to fulfill their professional career goals: Ballet/Contemporary or Commercial Dance track

Ballet/Contemporary Track graduates are working with companies such as Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Batsheva Ensemble, the Met Opera, Sleep No More, Sidra Bell Dance New York, LeeSaar The Company, Ballet Hispanico, Parsons Dance and Complexions.

Commercial Dance Track graduates have entered the industry working for the Dr. Oz Show, Beyonce, Kelly Roland (BET), Kanye West, Will Smith, Travie McCoy, Bea Miller, Revlon, Nike, MTV, Google, Youtube, Adidas, Lucille Roberts Fitness, Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America, Adidas, Camila Cabello, Porsche Cars, and RuPaul's Drag Race, Mystic India - the World Tour, Capezio Brands, Marriott Hotels, and more. Dancers have also gone on to be signed with talent agencies such as MSA and Bloc.





Independent Study Program

The Independent Study Program is a guided course of study designed and developed for both domestic and international students 18 years and over. Students are admitted to the program on all levels of proficiency (beginner through advanced) and can begin their studies on the first day of each month throughout the year. The Independent Study Program offers 18 hours of study a week, consisting of 10 Open Classes and 2 Program Workshops. Students have three options for program length:

12 Month course of study: 48 weeks of study, 4 week vacation period
6 Month course of study: 24 weeks of study, 2 week vacation period
3 Month course of study: 12 weeks of study, 1 week vacation period

MOPTOP Universal

Peridance Center will deepen its commitment to dance education through a new partnership with MOPTOP. MOPTOP Universal at Peridance Center will bring together some of the leaders in the street and club dance scene in New York to offer new Street and Club Dance Open Class programming as well as the long anticipated MOPTOP Professional Program. In September 2022, Peridance Center and MOPTOP will launch a three month pilot of the MOPTOP Professional Program.

The three month pilot of the MOPTOP Professional Program at Peridance Center will commence in September 2022 and will provide students with a condensed and comprehensive learning experience within a guided and regimented street dance curriculum. The program will be limited to 25 advanced/professional level dancers. Students will learn with some of the leaders of the street and club dance scene in New York. The three month program will culminate in a performance at Peridance Center's KnJ Theater.
