Please be aware that prior experience in both styles being offered is not required for audition attendance. For details on what to expect during the audition, refer to the format outlined below. However, it is important to note that recipients of a scholarship are required to enroll in classes for both styles, regardless of their prior experience in only one of the styles.
Please note there is a $10.00 registration fee for the audition. Fees are non refundable and not transferable.

What The Audition Will Look Like
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your audition time to check in and receive your number. Students will be directed to the studio where audition staff will give each dancer a number to wear for the audition. Wearing a number helps staff identify each student!
Auditions will start at start times listed. Late entry is not permitted.
Caregivers will not be permitted in the studio during the audition and must pick up their child promptly at the end of the audition (for students without self dismissing permission). Peridance staff will not be responsible for students who are not picked up at dismissal time.
For Ballet/Modern
- 20 minute Ballet Barre
- 15 minute Ballet Center/Across the Floor
- 10 Modern phrase work (dancers will learn a combination in the audition)
- Female identifying students should wear any color leotard with any color convertible tights. Students should have ballet slippers for ballet and bare feet for modern
- Male identifying students should wear any solid color t-shirt with boys ballet tights or solid colored shorts. Students should have ballet slippers for ballet and bare feet for modern
For Jazz/Hip Hop
- 15 minute Jazz warm up
- 10 minute Jazz across the floor
- 20 minute Hip Hop phrase work (dancers will learn a combination in the audition)
- All students should wear form fitting clothing, allowing adjudicators to see the student's alignment. Students should wear jazz shoes (preferred), ballet slippers, or bare feet. For Hip Hop, students should have CLEAN athletic sneakers (something not worn outside of the dance studio to protect and keep our floors clean).
Scholarship Policies
Not all students who audition will receive a scholarship. Scholarships are merit-based.
Adjudicators are assessing students on the following criteria: understanding and application of technique, ability to pick up and replicate movement material, and commitment and enthusiasm for the material they are working on.
Scholarships will be percentage based and will be applied to tuition for the 2024-2025 school year. Scholarships will be applied to classes and performance company tuition. Recipients of a scholarship are required to enroll in classes for both styles, regardless of their prior experience in only one of the styles.
Scholarships are valid for one academic year (September 2024 - June 2025) and cover the cost of tuition only. Scholarships do not cover mandatory registration fees, performance and costume fees, performance tickets, extracurricular activities, or summer programs.
Scholarship students may miss no more than 10% of their scheduled classes (4 classes per year) and must make up any missed classes for illness by scheduling makeups through a school administrator.. Scholarships will be revoked if students do not adhere to attendance requirements or general school policies.
Students who accept their scholarship must confirm by and sign a scholarship agreement by June 30, 2024.
All balances (fees) must be paid by August 20, 2024 to avoid any additional late payment fee.
