Curriculum
All Independent Study Program students are required to take a total of 12 classes (18 hours) per week consisting of 10 open classes (chosen from Peridance's Open Class Schedule) and 2 Program Workshops. In addition, students will choose a faculty master teacher with whom they will commit to studying weekly during their program. Students will be evaluated by their master teacher 1, 2, or 3 times based on their program length. Students must achieve a minimum C+ Final Grade to successfully complete the program. The Final Grade is calculated as an average of the student's Master Teacher Evaluation Grade(s) and Attendance Percentage Grade.
Workshops
All Independent Study Program students are required to participate in weekly Program Workshops, which rotate subjects each month. Workshops will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-10:00 am. Students will participate in Performance Workshops, Creative Practice, Somatic Practice, and Advisement Workshops to complement their dance training. Please note: the Independent Study Program includes both Contemporary Forms and Street Styles workshops for all participants.
