    Biography:

WHYTEBERG is a Los Angeles-based contemporary dance theatre duo created by Gracie WHYTE and Laura BERG that makes colorful immersive works for non-traditional spaces, investigating the ways in which humor exists within a given circumstance. Since its inception in 2014, WHYTEBERG has performed and choreographed for film, stage, music videos, and site-specific productions, working with prominent artists, producers, and platforms, such as Mac Miller (Grammy and MTV Video Music Award Nominee), Anderson .Paak (Grammy Award Winner), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (US Billboard top 10 musician), and TEDxUCLA, and Jacob Streilein (Emmy-award winning animator). WHYTEBERG has been commissioned by Seattle Art Museum, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Treefort Music Fest, and numerous universities and has been presented by Los Angeles Performance Practice, REDCAT, Breaking Ground Festival, Los Angeles Dance Festival and many more. WHYTEBERG has created 7 evening- length shows and 16 short dance films.

Gracie and Laura co-founded Ground Grooves in 2014, a popular floorwork class occurring four times a week in Los Angeles. Ground Grooves also offers online training through its virtual studio, GG TV, reaching floorwork enthusiasts in over 65 countries. In 2022, Ground Grooves developed into a business employing 8 dance artists.

    Class Description:

Ground Grooves is a floorwork class emphasizing continuous and fluid movement from a methodical and safe approach. Working with and without momentum, dancers move through a variety of rolls, slides, inversions, and shoulder rolls focusing on efficiency for longevity, absorbing impact with muscular resistance, and developing qualitative movement textures.
