    Geraldine Cardiel

    Limón

    Biography:

Geraldine Cardiel was born and raised in Mexico City and holds a Certificate in Modern Dance from The Americas University. Ms. Cardiel’s award winning choreography has been produced in New York by Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, Joyce Soho Presents, DanceNow Festival, The Local Produce Festival, Joyce SoHo, and Dance New Amsterdam. She is currently studying to be a Feldenkrais practitioner and is a frequent guest artist at international festivals and schools.

    Class Description:

This class uses the principles of the Humphrey-Limon technique to approach the mechanics of contemporary movement. Working with fall-recovery, suspension and succession, the focus of the class is on using gravity and opposition to expand the range of dynamics. With these skills, we investigate rhythm, momentum and movement definition. Using a clear alignment, the goal of this class is to create an environment where the dancer finds a way to move through space with sense of weight and freedom.
