    Biography:

    Jacob Taylor received his formative training at Boulder Ballet School and in the summer programs of American Ballet Theater, the School of American Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Kaatsbaan, and Perry Mansfield. Mr. Taylor is a graduate of the Ballet Performance Program at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music where he was coached in many balanchine ballets by Violette Verdy. At IU his repertoire included ballets by George Balanchine, Martha Graham, Agnes de Mille, Dwight Rohden, Paul Taylor, and Twyla Tharp. His professional career includes working with such companies as Boulder Ballet, Christopher Caines Dance, Eglevsky Ballet, FJK Dance, Ithaca Ballet, Lydia Johnson Dance, Rebecca Kelly Ballet, Staten Island Ballet, and Thomas Ortiz Dance.


    Class Description:



    Jacob Taylor incorporates what he has learned over the course of his training and career as a professional dancer into his class. He trys to pass along important teachings from his teachers and mentors such as Violette Verdy and Valarie Madonia. His class consists of a 30-45 minute barre, center, pirouette combination from the corner, and a progression of jumps starting from the smallest to the largest in the ballet vocabulary. Jacob trys to balance every class with a fun and open energy mixed with a strong emphasis on musicality, correct technique and movement quality/enjoyment. He looks forward to seeing you in class!
