Jenn Freeman, Artistic Director of Freemove Dance, is an
American
choreographer, dancer, and educator
based in New York City. Jenn's choreography has been
commissioned by Marymount Manhattan College,
Wayne State University, and The University of Texas at Austin
(nominated for an Austin Critics Table Award).
Her works have been presented in NYC at The Reverb Dance
Festival,
The 14th Street Y Cabaret, and The
Young Choreographer’s Festival, and she was a finalist in both
Division I and II of the McCallum Theatre
Choreography Festival in 2017. Jenn has worked alongside
choreographers in the development of projects
and pieces for: Florence and the Machine, Madonna, The X-
Factor,
Target, The Brit Awards, Cirque du Soleil,
The Martha Graham Dance Company, LA Ballet, SYTYCD, and
Encores! at NY City Center. Professionally, Jenn
has danced in works by choreographers: Sonya Tayeh (Tayeh
Dance),
Kyle Abraham (Abraham.in.Motion),
Larry Keigwin (Keigwin and Co.), Charlotte Boye-Christensen
(NOW-
ID), Mia Michaels, Brook Notary (The
Pulse Project), Mark Swanhart, Danielle Flora, and many others.
Jenn
is an internationally recognized dance
educator. She creates an environment in her classes that inspires
and challenges students while allowing for
individuality and personal choice. Her thoughtfully structured
warm-up and phrase work focus on strength,
efficiency, technique, and clarity, requiring intense focus and
resulting in an enveloping experience.
