    Biography:

Evelyn Ifiegbu, of Philadelphia, is a New York City based dance artist. She is a graduate from Belhaven University with a BFA in Dance and a Minor in Sociology. Since moving to NYC, Ifiegbu has performed at venues such as Judson Memorial Church, the Ailey Citigroup Theater, the KnJ Theater, Triskelion Arts, and the Queens Museum to name a few. Currently, Ifiegbu is a dancer with Cross Move Lab (Artistic Director Guanglei Hui) and Apollonia & Dancers (Artistic Director Apollonia Holzer), among other freelance projects. Additionally, she presents her own work via live performance and dance for camera around the country, including the cities of NYC, LA, Houston, and Atlanta.

    Class Description:

Class aims to connect the dancer to their body. Through a variety of principles, dancers will be invited to experience freedom and exploration in movement. Exercises will focus on releasing tension in the body, finding breath and flow, articulation and initiation in movement, allowing momentum, and following circularity and spirals in motion. Through a combination of floorwork, standing, and moving between the two, phrases will encourage finding clarity, expansion, and fluidity in the body.
