Bio
Indah Walsh is a choreographer and dancer who grew up traveling, living, and dancing throughout Southeast Asia and the US. She holds a B.F.A. in dance from SUNY Purchase, and an M.F.A. in dance from NYU Tisch. In May 2014 Indah launched her own company called Indah Walsh Dance Company and received a commission from LaGuardia Performing Arts Center that summer.
As an emerging choreographer, Indah has showcased her work throughout New York at venues and festivals including The American Dance Guild Festival, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, Warwick Summer Arts Festival, Dixon Place, Spoke the Hub, Dance New Amsterdam, the Amalgamate Artist Series, and Triskelion Arts. Indah has also taught and choreographed works for high schools, colleges, and dance conventions in Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, California and New York including NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Nevada Union High School, Taipei American School, Singapore American School, Dance and Movement Workshop for Educators, Interscholastic Association of Southeast Asia Schools Cultural Convention, and Southwestern College.
As a graduate student at Tisch, Indah was awarded a position as Graduate Work-Study in video as well as a Media Fellowship with New York City Ballet. She films a range of dance-related projects from live performances to lectures and meetings. She is currently the Coordinator and Creative Assistant for NYU Tisch Future Dancers and Dancemakers and Program Assistant for the Tisch Initiative for Creative Research.
