    Marinda Davis

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Marinda Davis' dance training began at the young age of two. Between her training at Mary Jo’s Performing Arts Academy, Blake High School of the Arts, and her involvement in regional musical theater, it was during these pivotal years that Davis' signature style gained its eclectic roots. Touring with conventions from the age of 15, it was on the circuit that Davis began to spread her wings with her work as an assistant to Gus Giordano, Ray Leeper, Kacy Combs, Dennis Caspary, and Lisa Allain.

At 18, Marinda relocated to New York to attend Marymount Manhattan College on scholarship where she obtained a degree in Dance with a minor in Musical Theater. Simultaneously she trained at BDC studying with and assisting her mentor, Sheila Barker. Marinda danced professionally with Sting, 98 Degrees, and was a founding and principal dancer for Anthony Morigerato's, AMDP, New York. Currently choreographing for some of the world's top studios and schools, she continues to take trained young dancers and indelibly molds them into phenomenal artists. Known as a life changing teacher, you can often find her on the international convention circuit inspiring dancers across the world. Marinda is the artistic director of, her company, marInspired ; the storytellers. She has presented work at Dancin’ Downtown at the Joyce, Young Choreographer's Festval at Symphony Space, Platform at El Portal, and The Giving Tree. In 2010, Dance.com recognized her as one of the Top 10 Young American Choreographers 25 and Under. In 2012, she premiered her first full length NY show, “breakable” which enjoyed a completely sold out run at The Salvatore Capezio Theater. This same year, Marinda received her first Capezio ACE Award nomination. Marinda is currently on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, EDGE, and WILD Dance Convention. She is the choreographer for Starpower's Power Pak and is the resident choreographer for Marked Dance Project, a mixed ability/disability company in New Jersey. Now based in Los Angeles, Marinda was nominated for her second Capezio ACE Award this summer. She was honored to receive 2nd runner up and funds to produce a new full length show for marInspired ; the storytellers. Their show "UNbreakable" will be presented in Los Angeles at Dancerpalooza and at the El Portal in August 2016. Marinda recently choreographed for American Idol, recording artist, Joshua Ledet. She continues to raise funds for Dysautonomia International through her dance apparel Sugar & Bruno line, #danceBRAVE and serves as an advocate for several of the diseases she fights through to do what she loves every day.
