An unparalleled 2-week summer intensive
August 10th - 22nd, 2014
Peridance Capezio Center brings this unique and exciting Intensive experience to pre-professional Ballet and Contemporary dancers, ages 16-22.
Bridging the gap between conservatory ballet technique and the innovation of the current contemporary scene, BLUEPRINT brings dancers face to face with current influential dance educators and artists. Our mission is to expose students to the best instructors in the industry, helping them advance their dance career.
This Intensive is an exciting opportunity to polish technique, learn repertory from prestigious working choreographers, perform on a professional New York City stage and gain a fresh and unique edge!
Participating dancers will take daily Ballet and Contemporary technique classes followed by rehearsals of repertory. BLUEPRINT Summer Intensive 2012 repertory included Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Jacoby & Pronk, Stephen Petronio, and Sidra Bell Dance New York.
The intensive will conclude with a performance in the beautiful Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance. All participants will have the opportunity to perform the repertory they have learned over the two weeks.
The intensive is open to Intermediate-Advanced dancers, both pre-professional and professional, by audition only. Students must register online to audition. Pointe work is required for female dancers.
Words from BLUEPRINT Summer Intensive Participants
"In all honesty, I loved every minute of it. The ballet classes were a sounds start to the day and strengthened my focus, the variety in contemporary styles challenged me and kept me interested, and the repertory rehearsals were inspiring, unifying, and introduced me to new forms of movement."
"I really enjoyed the Seminar. Hearing from several different instructors, dancers, and choreographers was enlightening - I realized that the panel's variety of career paths showed that 'pursuing a dance career' can mean many different things. I now have a better understanding of the variety of ways to make dance an integral part of my life."
"I feel like BLUEPRINT gave me a safe place to gain experience of adapting to many different choreographers and I am very grateful for that. I had a really great experience and would love to come back!"
