BLUEPRINT SUMMER INTENSIVE
August 20th – September 1st, 2012

In collaboration with dance icon Drew Jacoby, founder of DancePulp.com, Peridance Capezio Center brings a new Summer Intensive experience to pre-professional Ballet and Contemporary dancers, ages 16-22.

Bridging the gap between conservatory ballet technique and the innovation of the current contemporary scene, BLUEPRINT brings dancers face to face with current influential dance educators and artists. Our mission is to expose students to the best in the business, helping them advance their dance career.

This Intensive is an exciting opportunity to polish technique, learn repertory from prestigious working choreographers, perform on a professional New York City stage and gain a fresh and unique edge!

Participating dancers will take daily Ballet and Contemporary technique classes followed by rehearsals of repertory of Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Jacoby and Pronk, Christopher Wheeldon and Sidra Bell Dance New York.

At the conclusion of the Intensive, a culminating performance will be held at the beautiful Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance, on September 1st. All participants will have the opportunity to perform at the culminating performance!

The intensive is open to Intermediate-Advanced dancers, both pre-professional and professional, by audition only. Students must register online to audition. Pointe work is required for female dancers.

Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and Drew Jacoby of Jacoby and Pronk will each be looking for prospective apprentices for their companies, for the 2012 fall season.

How to Audition
To attend Peridance's BLUEPRINT Summer Intensive, all students are required to audition in one of the following ways:

• Public Audition: Attend one of Peridance’s public auditions from the audition tour listed above.
  DEADLINE: Depending on your audition location, all applications must be submitted one week prior to the audition date.
  
  
• Private Audition: If you are unable to attend a public audition and you live in the NYC metro area, e-mail blueprint@peridance.com to make an arrangement to audition in person at Peridance Capezio Center.
  DEADLINE: All applications must be submitted by May 31st.
  
  
• Video Audition: Students who are unable to audition in person may request to submit their application with a video link by e-mail or a DVD by mail.
  DEADLINE: All applications must be submitted by May 31st.

For all auditions, including video submissions, neat, close-fitting dance attire is required.

How to Apply
For Public, Private and Video Auditions, all students must complete the following:

• Fill out Peridance's Application Form. Make sure to confirm the audition location you are interested in attending.
• Pay the $20.00 non-refundable Application Fee.
• Send a current resume and headshot to blueprint@peridance.com, with Subject: “BLUEPRINT Application”.

After your application materials have been processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with further details.

Video Submission Requirements:
Video submissions must include a 2-5 minute contemporary ballet solo. This solo should showcase your best work in the contemporary and ballet style. (Female applicants with work on pointe is a plus.) Please attach your current resume and headshot with all video submissions.

Tuition Information
Audition and Application Fee: $20.00
Tuition Fee: $1,300.
Tuition for BLUEPRINT must be paid in the following installments:

• $500 deposit due to Peridance by Friday, June 15th, 2012
• Remaining $800 due to Peridance by Friday, July 13th, 2012

Please note that if you are under the age of 18 years old, parent and/or legal guardian signature is required for participation.

Housing
Please let us know if you would require housing in your application. Housing fees are not included in Tuition.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Students may only receive a refund if he/she notifies Peridance Capezio Center at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the Camp. If refund is given, a $100 registration and processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount. Refund for payments made by Credit Card will bear an additional deduction of 3.5% (to cover credit card fees). If Peridance is notified less than 2 weeks before the starting date of BLUEPRINT, student may be offered a partial or full refund (minus registration and processing fee), only if Peridance can substitute him/her with another student from a waiting list. Peridance reserves the right to cancel the BLUEPRINT if enrollment is insufficient. In such case, student will receive a full refund.
