Development Manager: Peridance Contemporary Dance Company

Internship Program

Peridance's Internship Program provides real world, practical knowledge of the daily operations in a professional New York City dance center. Interns will be expected to work on multiple long-term projects with an emphasis on developmental strategies as well as internal organization. Interns must be responsible for working with minimal supervision and completing projects on a deadline. Consistent and reliable work hours will be mutually established and must be adhered to for the entirety of the internship period. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment with detailed accuracy. Applicants must currently reside in NYC and have a strong command of English with secondary languages a plus.

 

Requirements

  • Applicants must commit to 15 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months

  • Must be proficient in a Mac environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, social networking sites, Photoshop, and Illustrator a must

  • Video editing skills using Final Cut Pro, iMovie etc.

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Priority will be given to those with experience in dance administration who are pursuing or have completed their college education

SCHOLARSHIPS

Training Programs Scholarships

Peridance Center offers domestic and international students a limited number of partial and full MERIT-based scholarships each academic year through an Online Application for its dance programs:

 


MERIT-based scholarships:

Awarded according to the following criteria and requirements: 
 

  • High technical proficiency demonstrated in an audition in person or by video (see more details on the scholarship application form)

  • Previous performance experience (CV or Resume)

  • A one-page written statement of the intent to pursue a professional career in dance

  • Recommendations by two dance professionals (teacher, mentor, choreographer, etc.)

CERTIFICATE PROGRAM STUDENTS ONLY:
  • Work-Study Option: On-campus work for a reduction in tuition option is available to prospective and current students. Applicants must demonstrate a strong study ethic, job-related skills, professionalism, as well as a financial need, if applicable. Qualified applicants are granted Work-Study positions at Peridance's sole discretion.

Artist
Residency

Introducing Peridance's Artist Residency Program, where creativity meets opportunity. Since 2022, this unique initiative offers selected artists 5-hours of free studio space weekly and access to performance opportunities in a vibrant, supportive environment. Our carefully curated selection of talented individuals fosters collaboration and innovation, allowing artists to push boundaries and explore new ideas. This residency encourages experimentation and growth, culminating in a showing at the Center.
