BIOGRAPHY
Starla Edwards (she, her) is a choreographer and performer based in New York City. Her work grows from a deep curiosity about personal history and expression and has been presented in venues across NYC. She was a Spring 2025 Resident Artist with the Baryshnikov Arts Center, where she began developing her current work THICK SALT.
Edwards previously performed with Camille A. Brown & Dancers and holds a BFA in Dance and Arts Management from George Mason University. She is currently in her second season with McKoy Dance Project, serving as Artistic and Rehearsal Staff.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
This contemporary class is rooted in exploration, texture, and movement discovery. Through improvisation and phrase work, we’ll explore accumulation, internal impulse, and ways of listening to the body, while creating space for both challenge and play. Come ready to move, investigate, and be curious.
