BIOGRAPHY
Katie Currier Katie grew up in Norwich, Vermont where she began her dance training under the direction of Doreen Keith. She spent her summers training at Ballet Austin, American Ballet Theatre, Kaatsbaan and NYCDA. Katie attended Butler University’s Jordan School of the Arts in Indianapolis, Indiana where she received her BS in Dance Arts Administration. While at Butler, she performed works by George Balanchine, Paul Taylor and Gustavo Ramirez Sansano. In 2014, Katie was a guest artist with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. After moving to New York City in 2015, Katie joined the NYC based Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (PCDC). Katie has performed across the US and internationally in works by Antonia Franceschi, Alice Klock, Charlotta Öfverholm, Dwight Rhoden, Jae Man Joo, Ido Tadmor, Igal Perry, Mauro Bigonzetti, Norbert de la Cruz III, Yin Yue, Yoshito Sakuraba and more. In 2019, Katie was nominated by PCDC for a Princess Grace Award. In 2021, Katie became a freelance artist with Metamorphosis Dance in Madrid, Spain. With Metamorphosis, Katie has been a creating member of two full-length productions choreographed by Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich – CreAcción in 2021 and PRISMA in 2022, touring with the company across Spain, Italy, and Germany. CreAcción received the 2022 Spanish Premios Max award for Best Choreography. Since June 2024, Katie has been a part of choreographic residencies sponsored by Aflora Tulum in Mexico, creating work with former PCDC dancer, Zachary Kukla. Katie currently also stages work and rehearses PCDC when she is in New York City. Additionally, she works as the Operations Manager for the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (ABT JKO) School and is on faculty with ABT Studio Company and the ABT JKO School Pre-Professional Division as a contemporary teacher. She is also certified in ABT’s National Training Curriculum through Level 3.
