Jason “Lockhorn” Ancheta is a New York City–based freestyle dance artist, Campbellocking practitioner, instructor, and community organizer known for his playful presence within street and club dance culture. Jason began his dance journey in Austin, Texas in 2019 with the Boogie Down Family under the guidance of David “TroubleLock” Dinh. After moving to New York City in 2022, he pursued deeper freestyle training with respected pioneers and practitioners across Locking, Hip Hop freestyle, House, Hustle, Litefeet, and related dance communities, shaping a multidimensional artistic practice grounded in both competition and cultural exchange. Jason has spent the past seven years competing and participating in freestyle dance communities scenes internationally. His competitive highlights include runner-up placements at Juste Debout USA in 2025, Step Ya Game Up! NYC Finals / 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop Edition in 2023, Parliament Funkaholic Vancouver in 2024, and Houston Revision's "Y.A. CommUnity Night" in 2021. He has also earned semifinalist placements at other noted events including Battle101 NYC, Lockombia Festival 2024 in Bogota, Plano Arts Underground Movement Festival Vol. 6, Waacklanta Love Vol. 2, and Back To The Funk Boston Vol. 2, while reaching quarterfinal and top-16 rounds across varied freestyle and Locking competitions throughout the United States and Canada. In addition to battling, Jason has performed and created choreography for a variety of stage productions, showcases, competitions, and community events across New York and Texas, including appearances at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum Works & Process series, Dance Parade NYC, and The Carnival: Choreographer’s Ball NYC. His choreography and performance work spans freestyle showcases, competitive team pieces, concept videos, and community-centered productions, reflecting his continued involvement as both a performer and creative collaborator within street dance culture.

In addition to battling and performing, Jason is deeply committed to community building through the Foolish Funkateers, the Campbellocking-centered collective he founded with his recurring “Fool on the Street” sessions in NYC. Since launching in 2023, the Foolish Funkateers have grown into a vibrant weekly gathering space dedicated to preserving street dance culture, fostering artistic exchange, and creating accessible opportunities for dancers within the broader New York arts scene. Alongside his organizing efforts, Jason teaches Campbellocking throughout New York City at studios and community programs, contributing to the education and development of emerging dancers in freestyle culture.
