CLASS DESCRIPTION

Dip, is a post-contemporary movement vocabulary. It is the core of my research, creation and educational work.

Dance is similarly to language, composed of numerous dialects that can intermingle to form complex articulations. Dip fosters this hybridity by synthesizing elements from my extensive array of movement practices, including Martial Arts, Feldenkrais, Meditation, Gaga, Classical Ballet, Contemporary practices and Urban Styles such as Popping, Krumping and Voguing.

This interdisciplinary confluence fosters a heightened relational awareness, confining the interplay of body parts, interpersonal dynamics, spatial orientation, temporality and musicality.

This evolving methodology underpins both conceptual and physical inquiries into frameworks such as Clocking, Drilling, Icing, Zero100zero, and Speeching. Each of these research avenues critically explores how embodied movement can articulate identity, challenge normative paradigms and provoke new understandings of the body’s capacities.

Dip’s philosophy emphasizes corporeal awareness as a path of accessing the hidden knowledge inherent in physical experience and the body. Every stage of development is a holistic celebration of embodied presence and discovery.
