BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in New York, Dara is no stranger to the stage and also began teaching and doing choreography in her teens. Always referred to as a triple threat because of her dancing, singing and acting, Dara began her training at several studios in Long Island and Manhattan. She was a student at the School of American Ballet, Eglefsky School of Ballet, Broadway Dance Center, Vic d'amore, and American Dance Machine. Starting out with the Vaganova method but later Cecchetti and other classical, neoclassical and contemporary styles. In addition she trained heavily in Jazz Tap and Broadway styles which made her into a very versatile and eclectic dancer pulling inspiration from all areas of dance. Dara was part of the Vic D'amore dance company and competed and performed all over the world including Russia and Poland . She later got her BFA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in both Dance and Musical Theatre, and studied intensively at both the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Royal Ballet in London England. She also studied at Joffrey Ballet for 2 years after college. Her performance credits range from Broadway, touring through the US and throughout Europe in Germany and Switzerland with a show called American Festival Ballet, and tons of regional and industrial work. She Also has multiple commercial, soap and tv credits. Favorites include Grease ( Broadway ), Crazy for You, Sweet Charity, Kiss me Kate, Brigadoon, 42nd Street, Its a Wonderful life and playing the role of Cassie in A Chorus Line. Also created and played the role of Jessica opposite Disneys Christi Carlson Romano in Fast Breaks which was the first musical by David Bryan from Bon Jovi, produced by Goodspeed Opera House and another new rock musical called Oblivian where she was the lead ingenue . Dara performed with Graham company for their Centenary festival and did Nutcracker performances with NYC Ballet while a Student at SAB. Dara also did the pilot of Aaron Spellings night time soap Hampton Bays playing Laura Cramer and was recently cast in a new Netflix series called Xxistence. She teaches with high energy, love, attention to technical detail and performance quality and keeps a warm comfortable feeling in the room yet keeping it very disciplined and structured.
