BIOGRAPHY

Chelsea Thedinga is a New York City-based performer, choreographer, and movement educator.
She grew up training in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and
Inspire Dance Company, under the artistic direction of Robert Contreras. After graduating, she
relocated to Los Angeles to expand her training and launch her professional career. In LA,
Chelsea assisted renowned choreographers Sonya Tayeh, Travis Wall, and Stacey Tookey on
FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, while pursuing performance opportunities in TV and film.
She has danced in music videos for Christina Perri’s "Jar of Hearts," Carrie Underwood’s
"Something in the Water," Steed Lord’s "123 If You Want Me," and was the featured dancer in
Sara Bareilles’s "Fire." Chelsea has completed six national tours with Travis Wall’s Shaping
Sound and performed with Stacey Tookey’s company, Still Motion Dance, with shows in Los
Angeles, New York, Montreal, and at Jacob’s Pillow.

In 2016, Chelsea relocated to New York City and became a principal dancer with Tayeh Dance,
performing in Sonya Tayeh’s original works, Foresight Hindsight at the Cape Dance Festival and
You’ll Still Call Me By Name at New York Live Arts, the Hudson Valley Dance Festival, and
Jacob’s Pillow. She also took the stage as a featured performer in Al Blackstone’s Freddie Falls
in Love. A founding member of Jenn Freeman’s Freemove Dance, Chelsea contributed to the
original creations when and ..it’s time.., which premiered at the Palm Desert Choreography
Festival and the 14th Street Y. Recently, she performed with Peter Chu’s company, chuthis.
As a choreographer and educator, Chelsea seamlessly blends her commercial and concert dance
backgrounds, creating an explorative style that transcends traditional boundaries. In the
classroom, she fosters an environment where dancers can explore movement without judgment,
encouraging a focus on texture and sensation.

In 2021, Chelsea choreographed for Novea Linea Dance Company’s inaugural season and served
as associate choreographer to Will Loftis for Ariana Grande’s music video "Yes, And?" and the
TV show The Girl from Plainville, starring Elle Fanning. She has created award-winning works
for esteemed dance programs across the U.S. and in Costa Rica. In New York City, she has
choreographed solos for graduating seniors at Juilliard, NYU, USC, and Pace University, and has
had work commissioned by the Joffrey School. Chelsea is currently on faculty at Adrenaline
Convention, where she teaches contemporary dance and was recently nominated for “Convention
Teacher of the Year” at the Industry Dance Awards.
New York City continues to be her creative hub, where she teaches guest classes at Steps on
Broadway, CLI Conservatory, The Bridge Movement, and Mark Morris Dance Center, while
collaborating with local artists to explore the intersection of dance and film.
