Shanika, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has a huge passion for performing and a love for the stage that began at a very young age. After teaching herself how to dance for a number of years, she then received foundational hip-hop dance training from the Chosen Dance Company, under the direction of Clyde Evans Jr. Her professional accolades stretch far and wide. Shanika’s sense of humility, dedication and hard work ethic has landed her several jobs, including NFL Superbowl commercial spots, a principal dancer in “the Life Story of Marvin Gaye” stage play, and the leading role in the hip-hop stage play “From Tha Hip” She has traveled the country sharing her love for the stage and now shares her passion with other dancers at her own school I Am Phresh Dance Academy in Philadelphia. There she nurtures and mentors future performers to become the best they can be. Dance doesn’t stop there, Shanika will continue to expand her dance training and performing capabilities while constantly spilling her heart on the dance floor.
