Brice Mousset is the Founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer of OUI DANSE, a New York City-based project dance company known for its bold physicality and emotional depth. Born and raised in Paris, France, Mousset first pursued studies in Biology and Human Sciences at Nanterre University before his path was transformed by the discovery of dance.

Following a dynamic performing career across Europe—in musicals, operas, television, and contemporary dance companies—he moved to New York City to focus on choreography and teaching, quickly becoming a vibrant voice in the dance community.

In both Europe and the United States, Mousset choreographs for OUI DANSE and across diverse creative platforms including film, fashion, commercials, circus arts, opera, and musical theatre. His choreography has been featured in Broadway Bares and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and he has taught and created work for some of the most esteemed American dance institutions including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater company, The Ailey School, Martha Graham Dance Company II, SUNY Purchase, Point Park University, Montclair State University, Joffrey Ballet School, Gibney Dance, Peridance Center, Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. Mousset was selected by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Former Artistic Director Robert Battle for the New Directions Choreography Lab Residency with the Ailey Foundation. He also choreographed for and performed with Christine Dakin, former Principal Dancer and Artistic Director of the Martha Graham Dance Company.

He has collaborated with renowned artists across disciplines, including American icon Pamela Anderson; British singer Leona Lewis; and French figure skater Kevin Aymoz, a multi–Grand Prix medalist and French National Champion.

Mousset’s inaugural work for OUI DANSE, "WORK!", received the Reverb Dance APAP Award for Best Choreography and Audience Favorite. The company has performed at prestigious venues and festivals such as New York Live Arts, Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out, Danspace Project, Riverside Dance Festival, Luminaria Arts Festival, and Dancers For Good. In France, OUI DANSE was invited by Pierre François Heuclin to perform at the Vaison Danses International Dance Festival and by Abou Lagraa for a creative residency at La Chapelle Saint-Marie.

Brice Mousset is currently on faculty at The Ailey School, where he teaches Contemporary, Improvisation, and Partnering in the Professional Division and serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Certificate Program.

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Brice Mousset’s Contemporary class is a space of exploration, risk, and discovery. Designed for dancers seeking to deepen their physical and emotional expressivity, this class blends athleticism with sensitivity, inviting you to move with purpose, surrender, and precision.

Through structured technique, improvisation, and partnering, dancers will investigate the body’s natural intelligence—challenging physical limits while cultivating awareness, intention, and individuality. The class emphasizes breath, weight, focus, and presence, encouraging dancers to let go of rigidity and embrace the unexpected.

We begin by grounding the body and mind—awakening awareness and centering our connection to sensation. From there, we build physical architecture only to deconstruct it, unlocking fluidity and freedom through guided improvisations and dynamic movement tasks.

Movement phrases, both long and complex, develop stamina, clarity, and virtuosity, while enhancing performance skills, memory, and expression.

This class is more than training—it is a dialogue between the internal and external, the seen and the felt. It’s an invitation to rediscover your body as a source of insight, artistry, and authentic connection.
1) warm up to center the body and articulate muscles and skeleton

2) improvisation to develop the artistry and imagination of the dancers but also to discover the infinite possibilities of their bodies.

3) learning choreography to develop specificity of movement execution, coordination and memory
