Joslin Vezeau
Strength Training
Biography:
Joslin Vezeau is from St. Louis, Missouri and trained at the Center of Creative Arts (COCA). She graduated from the B.F.A in dance program at The Ailey/Fordham University in 2018 where she received the Denise Memorial Scholarship in 2016. This is her fifth- year dancing with Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. In addition to her dance career, Joslin has been a personal trainer for a year and recently completed her Russian Kettlebell Certification. She looks forward to helping fellow artists get stronger and move more confidently.Class Description:
The Resiliency in Performance class has been specifically designed for dancers who are looking to enhance their performance and reduce injury. We blend the modern understanding of the body with the ancient physio-tool, the Kettlebell. The Kettlebell is an extremely safe way to add external load to the body while moving in the unique patterns and range of motion that elite dancers do. The offset nature of the Kettlebell will help dancers create joint stability, resilience, and neuromuscular connections that will prolong anyone’s performance career.
The class is broken down into three components: 1) Activation 2) Power 3) Strength
The class is not designed to fatigue the body, but rather prime the muscles and joints for the rest of the day.
