    Biography:

Kanon Sapp graduated from East Carolina University with her BFA in Dance Performance, Magna Cum Laude. Kanon founded looseKANONdance, a fiscally sponsored contemporary boutique company in 2017. Kanon’s looseKANONdance completed two separate choreographic residencies with Nimbus Dance Works, curated and mentored by Joanne Robinson Hill, former Director of Education of The Joyce Theater and Keith Thompson, company member, muse, and rehearsal assistant to Trisha Brown of Trisha Brown Dance Company for over a decade. looseKANONdance has shown work at some of the most notable New York City venues including Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, Peridance KnJ Theater, Martha Graham Studio Theater, Center for Performance Research, Dixon Place, Judson Memorial Church, and 14th Street YMCA, among many more. Kanon was selected as an Eryc Taylor New Choreographers Grant Awardee to create new work. Most recently, Kanon produced looseKANONdance’s sold out, evening-length show, P L A S T I C, that received rave reviews and was notably featured by Playbill.
