    Carrie Demos

    Body Conditioning

    Biography:

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Carrie Demos holds a B.A. in Dance from Colorado State University, and is a graduate of The Foundations of Dance Education, Dance Education Laboratory at the 92nd St Y. Continually a passionate teacher of both Dance and Pilates, Carrie has served on faculty at The 92nd St Y Harkness Dance Center, and currently serves on faculty with Peridance's Young Movers/PeriChild program and is a Teaching Artist with New York City Ballet Education. Also a graduate of the Kane School of Core Integration (Pilates Mat Certification), Carrie has taught Pilates at Loom Yoga and The Living Room (Brooklyn). Carrie is continually inspired by how studying human anatomy/kinesiology can lead to greater awareness, power, detail, efficiency and ease in every type of movement expression and has to continued to strengthen her anatomic studies through attending the FAMI (Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries) Workshop at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and more recently, Practicing Ideokinesis, and Kinesthetic Anatomy & Biomechanics of Motion, both taught by Irene Dowd. She has received her Pre-Natal and Post-Natal Pilates training from East River Pilates (Brooklyn).

    Class Description:

Carrie looks to offer her student's both a greater understanding of their own alignment in space, as well as detailed strength/joint mobility work to create more ease and strength in their movement. All experience levels of Dance and Pilates are welcome.
