Class Description:
Dancers are asked to..."Move big. Dig deep. Be loud.
Be
quiet." Bethany provides a comfortable work/play-
space to
refine technique and explore new artistic pathways
with
guidance on musicality, phrasing, and intention. Her
movement phrases are technically and dynamically
challenging, with a strong focus on where to
initiate a
movement from for stylistic effect, but also on how
to
initiate to achieve maximum freedom of movement.
Class
begins with a Simonson Technique warmup - "an
organic
approach to movement that prepares the body to dance
in a
way that is anatomically intelligent and somatically
aware" -
developed by Lynn Simonson.
