Choreography Camp
Time: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:30pm
Ages 10-13 years (prior dance experience recommended but not required)
Tuition: $800.00 - monthly payment options
About the Program
The School at Peridance's Choreography Camp is a great one-week program for the dancer who wants to explore a variety of styles of dance while learning how to use their own creative voice. In this program we will focus on building technique in classes as well as generating student choreography in our composition classes. Daily technique classes in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz will better help the dancers build diverse skill in a range of dance styles. A great camp experience for those students who love all styles of dance and may want to develop their dance experience by exploring choreography before the school year begins!
Other Notes
While no formal studio showing is planned for this one-week camp, we may have an opportunity for families to come at dismissal time on Friday to see our choreographic creations from the week in a casual setting - stay tuned!
Placement & Recommendations
This camp is for students who are 10-13 years of age. While it is not required, it is highly encouraged that dancers have some prior dance experience before attending camp so that they already feel comfortable in a dance class. Students are split into two camp groups based on prior experience in dance for some classes and come together to work as a group for others, such as composition. No auditions are required; all levels are welcome.
Sample Schedule
Schedule is subject to change.
*Composition & Choreography - Building on elements of dance learned in improvisation and learning different tools to create original dances together as a group
**Improvisation - Developing creative voice for each dancer to explore individual movement vocabularies different from skills learned in technique classes
