This workshop is the third in a series of four culminating in Artistic Director Jacqulyn Buglisi's new work "Letters of Love on Ripped Paper" to premiere at The Joyce Theater in February 2011. The emotionally-charged choreography explores the rapture, human complexity, and passionate longing that have been recorded throughout history in the love letters of historical, political and literary archetypes. The workshop emphasizes the individual and the sensuous partnering techniques inherent in the viscerally dramatic Buglisi style. Students should bring a love letter.

Buglisi Dance Theatre workshops, taught by Buglisi and company dancers, are aimed at giving dancers a broader physical breadth and dramatic vocabulary while exploring the depths of the human condition.

Dancers interested in auditioning for Buglisi Dance Theatre must sign up for the full week workshop, and email the company to inform of interest at buglisi@buglisidance.org. The company is seeking two men and one woman. Rehearsals begin in October 2010.
