Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble Repertory Workshop Sokolow Theatre Dance Ensemble Repertory Workshop
Samantha Geracht Jul 31, 2017 - Aug 5, 2017; Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat

Technique: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Known as one of the most dynamic and uncompromising of choreographers, Anna Sokolow has had and continues to have a profound effect on the course of contemporary dance throughout the world. Called the “Solzenitsyn of twentieth-century dance,” she consistently and uncompromisingly reflected the realities of society through her work. In this workshop students will explore Ms. Sokolow's unique approach to dance, theatre and musicality. This lab style class environment gives students the opportunity to work carefully and specifically while while working toward the force of complete commitment that Sokolow's style demands from dancers. Studies will include excerpts from Sokolow repertory.
