Peridance Youth Ensemble

Peridance Youth Ensemble is a non-for profit outreach youth dance company founded in 2000 as a natural extension of The School at Peridance and as a springboard for the professional company, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. Peridance Youth Ensemble receives professional dance training of the highest caliber and makes the art of dance accessible to at-risk youth through community outreach. Members of the Ensemble are carefully chosen through the School or through periodic open auditions, to train and rehearse daily at Peridance Capezio Center. The main purpose of the Ensemble is to perform community outreach through which it develops relationships with hundreds of children from various organizations. These generous dancers extend their knowledge and love for dance through performances, interactive workshops, and seminars provided to at-risk communities. In addition, the dancers have the unique opportunity to learn choreography from established choreographers while developing their technique and artistry.
