Peridance Contemporary Dance Company has been a powerhouse of energetic and evocative dance since its inception in 1984, when it was founded by Artistic Director Igal Perry. Performing repertory by notable choreographers, as well as an emphasis on collaborating with artists, the Company astounds audiences with its physical strength and mature artistry. Following a brief hiatus as Peridance Capezio Center relocated to its new studios in Manhattan's Union Square area, the Company re-emerged in 2011 with a successful season that included performances in Washington D.C. and on multiple stages in New York. Peridance Contemporary Dance Company is excited to continue its three decade-long dedication to creating and performing powerful dance that inspires audiences nationally and internationally.

Peridance Contemporary Dance Company has had the honor of performing in some of New York's most renowned theaters including the Joyce Theater, BAM and Kaye Playhouse. The Company has also toured nationally and internationally, performing in Japan, Korea and Italy.

This season, as always, giving to communities in need remains an important and
integral aspect of the Company's mission.

Located in the beautiful Union Square area in the heart of New York City, Peridance Capezio Center and its Salvatore Capezio Theater are the home of Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. The unique arrangement of the Company situated within a school creates a harmonious blend of professionals and students, bringing artists from all walks of life together into a lively micro-community, and inspiring young dancers to reach great heights in their art.

Peridance Capezio Center

For almost 30 years, Peridance has provided inspiration for the educator, enjoyment for the recreational dancer, development for the professional, and fertile ground for future Company dancers. Peridance Capezio Center offers over 250 weekly open adult classes taught by an exceptional faculty, multiple International Student Programs with students from over 30 countries, and a two-year Certificate Program designed for pre-professional dancers. It is also home to The School at Peridance with over 100 weekly classes for children ages 18 months to 18 years, and the Peridance Youth Ensemble, a non-profit performance and outreach troupe.
