Vanessa is recognized as a contemporary-jazz and tap
teacher and choreographer. Co-director of DoubleTake Dance
company in NYC www.doubletakedanceco.com and resident
choreographer for the Spanish musical theatre production
company Tela-Katola: “I Love You, You're Perfect …Now Change”
and “Tick Tick…BOOM!” (both nominated for Best
Currently she dances for DoubleTake Dance (SummerStage; Ailey
Theater; Gerald W. Lynch Theater; Carnival, Webster Hall; Teatro
la Tea in NYC or Teatro Madrid, Kapital, Sala Triángulo in Spain),
De Funes Dance and IKADA . Other dance companies include
BalaSole Dance Co., Moochaloo, Burnt Sugar, J.T Lotus Dance
Co., Acrodance S.L., Bemoved. She´s had the pleasure to work
for choreographers such as Germaul Barnes, Ryan Beck, Guillém
Alonso, Eva Sánchez, Ashley Carter, Sheila Barker, Alan O´nickel
and Lynn Schwab for whom she performed at Tap City.
Featured dancer in “Rabi Thakur: A ballet on the Life of
Rabindranath Tagore” (NJPAC); "Where Dreams Become Reality"
(NYC) and “Compradores de Sueños” (Madrid). Other shows
include The Little Opera Theater of NY´s “Mitridate” Momentum
Dance Theater: “The jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker” (Washington D.C.),
and “LOVEartJAPAN” a Benefit show for Japan at the Salvatore
Capezio Theater in NYC.
She has performed as a dancer, model or actress for
international brands and commercials with L´OREAL, El Pais
newspaper, Ursus Vodka, KDDance, Lush Cosmetics/Gorilla
Perfumes, channel Tele5, Fuse TV, X-Box/Kinect event in Times
Square with NeYo and Lady Sovereign, Fashion Center Arts
Festival, Dru Cutler.
Film credits include “The Ryde of Tom & Valkyrie”, and "Friends
With Benefits" with Justin Timberlake (IMDB 2011).
Though primarily trained in NY, Vanessa has also studied in
European schools, and was honoured with a scholarship from the
Spanish Ministry of Culture. Vanessa can be found on teaching
faculties in the US (Peridance, Dance Wave in NYC, Lines in San
Francisco, Round Rock Repertory in Austin…) Spain (Scaena,
Performance in Madrid; Latelier , Ross in Bilbao...) and México
(Taglioni Stage) to name a few.
