Matteo Corbetta
Ballet
Biography:
Born in Brescia, Italy, Matteo starts dancing with the "Società Forza e Costanza“ with his teacher Tina Belletti. In 1990, he went on to study at the “Scuola di Balletto Classico Cosi-Stefanescu “ in Reggio Emilia, graduating in 1994. In 1995 he was accepted into the prestigious "Teatro della Scala" in Milan. He proceeded to dance with several Italian dance companies, including such as "Compagnia Veneta di Balletto Classico", "Corpo di ballo dell’Arena di Verona", "Compagnia di danza Città di Rovigo", and "MM Company" of Reggio Emilia. His performance repetoire includes ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary in both corps and solo/prinicpal roles.
Matteo later joined the corps de ballet of the world famous "Teatro alla Scala", peroforming internationallly with the company in most all classical ballet repertory. He has also performed in many musicals and operas, both in Italy and abroad. In 2004, he began the Kormat Dance Company, which has to its credit many shows throughout Europe and on television.
Matteo is an American Ballet Theatre National Training Curruluum certified in all levels, Primary through Level 7 and Partnering. He teaches and choreographers regularly throughout Italy and is sought after throughout Europe and the USA.
In addition to dancing, teaching, and choreographing, Matteo is a professional singer and is the inventor/developer of the Italian Floor Barre practice, "Method: Kormat" Floor Barre.
