Stevie graduated from Escuela Nacional de Arte, Cuba’s most prestigious performing arts conservatory, and he performed with Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba throughout Cuba and internationally. Stevie lived and taught in Italy for 10 years before relocating to New York. His father was the legendary rumbero and Afro-Cuban dancer Felix Pupy Insua.

    Afro Cuban Folkloric Class
Enjoy the rich heritage of Afro Cuban Folkoric dances. The class is designed to teach students the movement, style and characteristics of Yoruba, Palo, Orishas, and Congo while gaining an awareness of the accompanying rhythms. The significance and context of the dances will be explained to foster greater understanding and expressiveness.

    Afro Cuban Rumba Class
Learn different types of Rumba including Guaguancó, Yambú, Columbia, and Rumbas mimeticas.
