Marisa Martin is a New York City-based dancer and yoga teacher. She holds a BFA in Dance from Fordham University/The Ailey School and her Vinyasa Yoga certification from Yoga Vida. As a freelance dancer, she has performed on stages across the US, Europe, and Latin America, as well as on screen in dance films, commercials, and music videos. Among its many benefits, Marisa found that a regular yoga practice brought new strength, maturity, and breadth to her dancing. She is passionate about sharing these findings with the dance community and, above all, strives to make movement accessible to everyone. Marisa has been on guest faculty at various dance studios and training programs and has taught a wide range of ages, from children to adults. She continues her education with advanced teacher trainings and a regular study of anatomy. Marisa currently teaches at Peridance Capezio Center and Yoga Vida.

    Class Description

This Vinyasa-style yoga class is designed to create strength and suppleness in the body, as well as space in the mind. We focus on linking breath with movement, finding supportive alignment, and cultivating a feeling of expansion throughout the entire body. Students will come away with increased stamina, embodied awareness, and a calm state of mind. All are welcome: class is open to professional dancers, recreational movers, and curious newcomers alike!
