    Nikki Holck

    Nikki Holck

Ballet | Managing Director of Peridance Center

    Biography:

Nikki Holck's career spans the roles of performer, educator, director, and innovator. With roots deeply planted in the rich soil of Canada's National Ballet School, where she completed her foundational dance education following her time at North Carolina School of the Arts and Queen Emma Ballet School, Nikki has cultivated a career that bridges the worlds of classical ballet and contemporary dance, both nationally and internationally.

As a professional dancer, Nikki has toured worldwide, performing with renowned companies such as the National Ballet of Canada (Karen Kain), Peridance Contemporary Dance Company (Igal Perry), Company RAu (Korhan Basaran), and Cardinal Movement and Company (Assaf Salhov), among others. Her versatility as a performer has been showcased in a wide repertoire, from the classics to cutting-edge contemporary works.

Transitioning seamlessly into leadership roles, Nikki has demonstrated her acumen as a Managing Director and Director of Program Education at Peridance Center in New York, NY. Under her guidance, Peridance has seen significant innovations in curriculum development, emphasizing health, sustainability, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Nikki’s strategic overhaul of the post-secondary Certificate Program curriculum has been particularly impactful, leading to remarkable success rates among graduates pursuing careers in dance and dance education.

In 2022, Nikki was instrumental in launching one of New York City's first comprehensive hip hop education programs, in partnership with the city's founding hip hop and street dance communities (MOPTOP Universal- Buddha Stretch, Sekou, Caleaf, Link, Cebo, and Chrybaby). This initiative reflects her commitment to creating inclusive, transformative spaces within the arts, honoring and amplifying all voices and narratives.

Nikki's contributions extend beyond administration and performance to encompass significant community engagement efforts. Her ability to foster connections among dancers, faculty, students, and the broader dance community has been pivotal in creating a vibrant, supportive environment that nurtures talent and passion for dance.

As a dedicated educator, Nikki continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of dancers, sharing her extensive knowledge and experience through workshops, classes, and intensive programs across the globe. Her teaching philosophy—rooted in innovation, curiosity, and a holistic approach to mind and body—prepares students not only for the rigors of professional performance but also for thoughtful, creative engagement with the world of dance.

    Class Description:

Nikki’s class uses a fresh and open approach to the study of traditional ballet vocabulary. The class aims to fuse together a study of alignment, classical technique, and full body articulation. Her approach encourages dancers to find natural movement flow with an emphasis on musical interpretation and coordination.
