Biography
Katharine Pettit is a NYC based Director/Choreographer
who
served as Susan Stroman's SDC (Stage Directors and
Choreographers) Observer on BULLETS OVER BROADWAY
on
Broadway. Recent Credits include: "Day Of Wrath" (NYMF),
"I
Could
Never Love Anyone..." (NY Theatre Barn NWS), "Barcode"
(Assoc.,
FringeNYC), "SuperSoldier" (Assoc., Fundamental Theater
Project),
"Your Name On My Lips" (Theater for the New City),
"Pumped!"
(TRU voices reading series) "Angel In My Heart" (Fresh Fruit
Festival and The York). Her choreography has been shown at
The
92nd Street Y, Green Space, The Cell, Hostel International
Ballroom, TADA! Emerging Artists Theater New Works,
Choreographer's Forum and Peridance Showcases.
Katharine
is
Associate Artistic Director of NY Theatre Barn, a
groundbreaking
theater company whose sole focus is illuminating untold
stories.
She is on faculty at Peridance and The Studio (Mount Kisco)
and
was featured in Dance Teacher Magazine November 2015.
Class Description
Katharine’s teaching style is all student driven. We’ll warm up with our basics, hone our technique, then move to cross the floor and build to more advanced rhythms which will require endurance and strength! Don’t let the class level intimidate you; every student will receive one on one corrections and advice to push to the level of their desire! We’ll wrap up each class with a combination that utilizes and expands on what we worked on in class that day! Everyone can Tap; Katharine will break it down for you so you feel successful and on your way to a more well rounded dance training experience!
