    Ted Thomas and Frances Ortiz

    Bio

Melding his urban athleticism with her Latin sensuality, and their combined choreographic and musical sensibilities, Ted Thomas and Frances Ortiz founded Thomas/Ortiz Dance, introducing a fresh and emotionally engaging new vision to contemporary dance. The dancers from culturally diverse backgrounds perform a repertoire which explores a multitude of thought- provoking and socially-relevant themes.
A native New Yorker, Ted Thomas has danced with the companies of Paul Taylor, Ballet Hispanico, Elisa Monte, Nikolias and Murray Louis to name a few.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Frances Ortiz directs the New England Dance Theater and is co-owner of the New England Academy of Dance in Connecticut.
