    Biography:

    METdance, founded in 1995, strives to educate, entertain, and inspire its audiences through a diverse curation of repertoire that spans a full range of emotion, content, and collaboration. Based in Houston, TX, USA, METdance’s passionate performers and choreographers come from a range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and instill the company’s work with a complete spectrum of emotionality and physicality. From comedy and humor to poignant and dramatic, from fierce athleticism to detailed minimalism, METdance is committed to presenting works that speak to every audience member regardless of their background, age, sex, or experience with dance.     Class Description:



    Take a Contemporary class with METdance Artistic Director, Marlana Doyle has a jazz base to it while exploring the concepts of contemporary dance. You will start with a structured warm up that has many exercises to properly warm up the body including, standard classic jazz isolations, ballet floor barre Technique, yoga inspired strengthening exercises for the upper body/core as well as a bit of release technique and floor stretching. After warm up you get will explore movement phrases across the floor and finish up with a center contemporary combination. She will also be teaching some METdance Rep where you can experience the diversity and excellence in training that is the signature of the company.
